Coalspot blinked his eyes and shifted to look around. When he noticed it was dawn, he nudged Thorntooth.
"We gotta get up. Patrol."

Whiskernose popped his head into the warrior's den. "Are you coming, Coalspot?"

"Uh-yep. I'll just fill in her spot on the next patrol." Coalspot meowed. He got up and stretched his limbs, then left the den.

Whiskernose looked at Thorntooth's sleeping body and snorted. He padded over to where Furzepelt and Blizzardpelt were waiting.

Coalspot trotted after him. He grouped with the patrol, meowing a few "Good mornings."

Whiskernose signaled for the patrol to be off and headed for the ThunderClan border.

Only then did Thorntooth wake with a groan. "Coalspot...?" she mumbled, her eyes adjusting as she looked around for the black and white tom.
