Sagepaw purred, then cleared her throat. "So, if you were to elect a clan cat to lead Bloodclan, Tigerstar, who would you choose?" she meowed aloud.

Thistletail resumed his walking. He could feel the heat of the argument slowly cool from his face and ears. The BloodClan cat grumbled and turned direction for the lake.

(Since we had that fast-forward we have to keep in mind that this has been nearly eight moons since BloodClan first came to the forest. We can say that BloodClan has gone without leadership until Tigerstar called a meeting for every BloodClan cat to come to the TigerClan camp and choose a leader.)
Tigerstar looked at his son's daughter. "I would choose my son, Hawkfur, because he has lived with BloodClan for a while now. His mate gave birth to kits in BloodClan and died there. Leopardpaw and Sagepaw are BloodClan cats even if their father and mother weren't born there, wouldn't any right mind agree?"
Leopardpaw got to her paws. "I consider myself BloodClan. That was the clan I was born in, and that is the Clan I am loyal to." She meowed.

Jaggedflame looked at the warrior through slitted eyes.
Wolftooth nodded silently, digging his claws into the earth beneath him.
Thistlefur sighed and nodded at Tigerstar, eyeing Hawkfur silently.
Shadefrost dipped her head.
Shadowthorn and Adderfang glanced at each other, then shrugged.
Icefur nodded like the others, her icey blue eyes resting on Hawkfur for a moment before returning to Tigerstar.

Hawkfur's snarl disappeared. He looked around and saw all the BloodClan eyes on him.

Mapleheart padded out of the camp, her ears ringing. She didn't feel so well and needed some fresh air.
The she-cat padded into ShadowClan territory, sniffing the air. It was cool and cleared her head a little. But there was something else there....a badger. Mapleheart had to investigate. She followed the scent around the territory until she found a deep hole in the ground. She had not seen this before.
Mapleheart was about to turn and go to tell Tigerstar when a big black and white shape appeared in front of her. It's beady black eyes were full of fury. Mapleheart unsheathed her claws.
The badger lunged forward, trapping the deputy under its belly. Mapleheart tore her claws through the fur, but it only made the badger more furious. Mapleheart shrieked as the badger's jaws locked around her tail and pulled her out. She lashed out at its muzzle, but the attack was weak. The badger dropped Mapleheart but immediately snapped its teeth on her neck. The she-cat let out a yowl that was cut off as the badger swung its head around, snapping the ThunderClan deputy's neck.

Shadowthorn looked up as a short yowl that was silenced a moment later cut through the air. He looked at his sister. "Tigerstar?" Asked Adderfang, questioning if he had heard it.
