Hawkkit, now Hawkpaw, was patrolling the border with Silverwing, her mentor. It was her second time out of the camp, and first time patrolling. She sniffed the air, then wrinkling her nose. "Silverwing, what's that smell?"
The older cat took a whiff of the air as well, then narrowed her eyes. "Bloodclan," she muttered, a low growl forming in her throat.

Leopard quickly caught the scent of the enemy. She crouched down, her long, curved claws digging into the ground. She stalked towards the scent, and spotted Silverwing and Hawkpaw.
The BloodClan leader's muscles bunched together, and she prepared to leap.

Silverwing's tail quickly lashed to the side, and she motioned for the apprentice to find cover in a tree, unsheathing her claws halfway.
Hawkpaw's pale but luminous yellow eyes were narrowed as she leapt up and swiftly climbed up a tree, black paws scurrying up the hard bark.

Leopard leapt onto Silverwing, her long claws tearing into the fur on the shecats's back.

Silverwing, with a snarl, waited for her and felt the other she-car's long claws dig into her flesh. She tucked in her paws and rolled onto her back, paws protecting her exposed neck and belly. She attempted to rip away, and as she failed to do so she rolled back onto her paws, then springing upward with some difficulty.

Leopard's claws ripped out of Silverwing, and the shecat landed perfectly on all fours.

The silver and black she-cat seethed in pain, stepping back a couple paces with eyes narrowed to slits. "What's your business here, Leopard?" She snarled, recognizing the Bloodclan leader.

Leopard curled her lip, revealing sharp teeth. "My business is not your business, kittypet."

Silverwing hissed, baring her teeth. "It is when you're on Stormclan territory, Fox-brain!" She growled, lashing her tail.
Hawkpaw waited a couple of moments to think whether not to leap down on Leopard, or to stay hidden in the leaves.

Leopard grinned coldly. Her eyes turned toward Hawkpaw. "I know you're in there, little one." She meowed.
