Egg shook his fur and bounded down to Frecklewish's den to consult her about the choice of deputy.
Frecklewish had taken the catnip from Owlpaw and added it to the store. She looked at the poppyseeds with a doubtful glance.
"We'll need more poppy soon, as well." She meowed, before noticing Egg's approach. She dipped her head in greeting. "Hello Eggstar."
"Egg," He muttered. "I need to speak with you about the deputy situation."

"What about it?" Frecklewish asked, turning to him.
"Who do you think should be the deputy? I've got it narrowed down, but those cats.. I'm not sure any of them are fit for it." Egg explained, his blue eyes trailing over the den.
"Well, I've had no signs from above if that's what you mean. Just look at the positives rather than the negatives." Frecklewish suggested, trying to catch his gaze but found herself unable. " Egg! Are you listening?"
"Yes!" He growled, stepping back. He met her eyes and nodded his thanks.
"Going to go think about it again." He meowed as he left.

(I've got the purple one on. It looks pretty sick.)
Egg returned to his den to think, passing through the hanging lichens that kept the sun out of it. He curled up in a corner of the den and set his head on his paws.
"Sageleaf, Mintfur, Plumwillow, and Tinycloud are the most sensible cats. Maybe if I asked each a few questions.."

Egg shook his head and removed Tinycloud from his mental list, as well as Mintfur.
"So that's it. I guess experience rules then. Sageleaf." He meowed and got up to leave.

Egg looked around camp briefly. He saw Sageleaf, smiled, and then bounded across camp to the Meeting Branch. He swarmed up the trunk and began to call the meeting.
"Every cat able to climb a tree come to the Meeting Branch to hear my words!"

Creekfeather stopped, and headed to the meeting place, Bouncefire and Rockshade following.
